At Hicks Home Learning, I offer personalised, engaging English tuition tailored to each student’s needs.
With 11 years of classroom experience (including time as Head of Key Stage 3) alongside a strong academic background in English, I bring both expertise and a genuine passion for literature and language to every session. In 2017, I was nominated for the Kent Teacher of the Year Awards and received a Highly Commended recognition. This nomination came from within the school community and reflected the value placed on my teaching by colleagues, pupils, and parents.
I support learners from Key Stages 2 and 3 to GCSE, helping them grow in both confidence and skill to reach their full potential. Whether your child needs help with grammar, text analysis, creative writing, or exam preparation, I provide a calm, encouraging learning environment right from the comfort of your home.

How it works

Use the contact form below, email me directly or request a free consultation to tell me what kind of support you are looking for. I will respond promptly to answer any questions.
We will arrange a short call to discuss your child’s learning goals and the best type of support. This may include one-to-one sessions, a small group, or a bespoke package.
3. Choose your sessions
You decide what works best: weekly online lessons, in-person support (if you are local), or a short-term block focused on a particular goal. I will offer guidance on what I believe will help your child thrive.
4. Start learning
Once we have agreed a plan, we will begin lessons! I provide all necessary materials and tailor each session to your child’s pace and progress. Regular, clear communication with parents or schools is part of my approach.
5. Flexible options
Family life is busy, and I understand the need for flexibility. I offer adaptable scheduling and a clear, fair cancellation policy. You can also book block sessions to secure your preferred time slot.
